Have you ever wondered why are you on this planet?? What is your role in the larger scheme of things??Is there even a larger scheme of things??
The answer to these questions (as rhetorical as they are) can be found inside the deep roots of all religions. And by ALL I really mean ALL. Religion it is my strong belief now came into existence to answer these and many other rhetorical questions, questions that have plagued humanity for times immemorial.
What really does the universe mean for us? What is our place in it? And most importantly, what is our "Potential" in this universe??
The human being as discussed in part one of this discussion has the potential to reach the stars and the abyss at the same time, he has the potential of being GOD, being created in God's own image. And the skeptics will ask me, if it is so, then why hasn't man evolved further? Why is he still languishing in his own filth and filth created by him (including oil slicks)?? My answer to this will be more historical and factual then most will imagine.
Remember the evolution of GOD and MAN I had written about earlier, that will help you make sense of the small narrative that follows: There was once a cave man, alone and frightened, his animal instincts were all heightened, the ice age was just around the corner, and he had no fire and very limited clear drinking water. Then sitting there in his mountain high, he saw a vision up in the sky, lo and behold these were people who looked quiet like him. But everything about them was different and glowing, even at night their cities looked like right stars all put together from the sky, warmth was given to them by some metal beast's breath, another metal beast took them to the ocean's depth, the lightening bolts fell from the sky, spawning MUSHROOM CLOUDS of despair on the people nigh. The cave man saw in wonder the 21st century and decided in his ignorant yet true heart, HEAVEN is this, these are GODS, they have the PERFECT life.
I know the above seems like a 18th century ill crafted rhyme, but a deeper look at it will take you back to the cave man, and you will understand why he would regard us as GODs and our world heaven, unfortunately had man not been beguiled by the power and corrupted by the possessions, he would have been living the perfect life. A fully sustainable life, where people would not work for a living, but work to achieve and create for the betterment of not only the human race but the entire planet.
How untrue do you think the cave man's dream is of equating us with GODs on the basis of quality of life, consider our world heaven when we have to press a few buttons to make instant food. The problem however, came when man refused to evolve further, he got so enthralled by this small GOD like power (5-6% of human brain power) that he refused to move on. It's like a greedy kid who doesn't want to share his toys with his cousin even though it allows him a larger access to more toys.
Why should I share? Why should I care? The problem is sire that the I doesn't exist in seclusion, it exists as part of the larger paradigm, and the few who understand this want to spread the word further, to expand the horizon for human potential and human development.
My personal belief is to learn from the most colorful mythical character in Indian mythology, Krishna. Whole of his life, Krishna challenged the paradigm, questioned the authority, bent and broke the rules, and STILL he is considered GOD. The true matter is he is considered GOD not despite but because of these features. Very few people have the ability of calling a stupid paradigm stupid in the face of the people who have created the said paradigm, these people are either crazy (me for one), or are in touch with the GODFORCE in them, thereby transcending into the existence ladder and becoming GOD themselves. Krishna broke the shackles of current reality to help us see beyond the obvious and pertinent. The teachings of Krishna should not be taken as a religious sermon but as a way to lead a COMPLETE life. Krishna and later Buddha are enlightened beings which have shown man the path to go beyond the current paradigm of existence of a slithering carbon compound in the filth of his own creation to a paradigm of existence as a part of the supreme being, nature, GOD, Godforce.
“One gradually attains tranquillity of mind by keeping the mind fully absorbed in the Self by means of a well-trained intellect, and thinking of nothing else." _Bhagvad Gita
"The true potential of man is not know by man himself, in changing the paradigm and questioning the obvious he can discover the true potential possessed by him." Me
